I’m not sure though what sucks, my article or the situation where an employee has to find the moral strength and courage to report his employer for breaking the law? Maybe you’re referring to companies that cheat all of us taxpayers by billing for a job that did not meet the terms of their contracts. Maybe you meant the fact that the manager who complained to the president about some illegal billing got fired sucks. The interesting thing is that situations like this are called moral dilemmas because they are not clear cut. If you follow through on the morally correct course, it might cost you your job or the friendships of the people who are doing what you feel is wrong. Some people are never bothered by moral dilemmas as they go along, don’t make waves. For those trying to do the right thing, sometimes we’ll make the wrong call. Then we live with it and try to learn so as to do better next time.
